Tbilisi presents the image of a city where ancient and modern harmoniously integrate, and through the centuries, it has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. This is especially evident in the city's Old Town, where a mosque, synagogue, and Christian churches stand side by side.
Tbilisi is rich in cultural highlights. Starting with the impressive theaters and concert halls, there are eye-catching performances throughout the year. Tbilisi is always on the move: areas of the city such as Rustaveli Avenue, Aghmashenebeli Avenue, and Old Tbilisi consistently breathe new life into the city. The city is filled with concert halls where you can choose between world-class classical concerts or live performances by Georgian and international artists. Moreover, various colorful festivals dedicated to national holidays and other events take place in the city each year.
Tbilisi is also a paradise for gourmets, where food becomes an art. Due to its geographical location, Georgian cuisine has absorbed the best culinary traditions of the Middle East, Europe, and Western Asia. However, despite its influences, it has still managed to remain authentic and full of personality with a refined palate. Georgia is recognized as the oldest wine region in the world, continuously developing 8000 years of winemaking history. Consequently, in Georgian society and traditions, the vine holds a central position. Therefore, wine occupies a crucial place in social relations in the country, as well as in its capital city, and plays a special role in the traditional hospitality of the citizens. There is no feast that goes without wine and a Georgian traditional toastmaster – Tamada.

Cableway. The Academy of Sciences building at the top of Rustaveli Avenue, designed by Konstantine Chkheidze and Mikheil Chkhikvadze (completed between 1953 and 1958), exemplifies post-war Soviet monumental architecture. The recent removal of the red star atop its 55-meter high tower does little to alter its distinctive totalitarian character.
The nearby lower Station of the Mtatsminda cableway (designed by Konstantine Chkheidze, 1958-1960) is situated in the Academy’s backyard and forms part of the building complex.
Narikala Fortress. Nowadays, Narikala Fortress is a prime attraction among Tbilisi's most visited sites. No one leaves Tbilisi without exploring this stunning fortress, which is particularly breathtaking at night. It dominates the skyline from nearly every part of the city and overlooks the Mtkvari River, adding to its allure.
Abanotubani. The Baths District of Abanotubani is one of Tbilisi's oldest districts, located along the river Mtkvari. Known for its baths built on natural hot mineral springs, this area is a testament to Tbilisi's ancient heritage.
Mother of Georgia Monument. Known as Kartlis Deda, this monument symbolizes the Georgian national character, with a bowl of wine to greet friends and a sword for enemies. Erected in 1958, it offers stunning views of Tbilisi from Sololaki hill.
Sameba Cathedral Church. Completed in 2004, the Holy Trinity Tsminda Sameba Cathedral is a symbol of new Georgia. Standing as the tallest church in the country, it forms part of a complex including the Patriarch's residence, a monastery, a theology school, and an academy.
After lunch, the tour continues with:
Rustaveli Avenue. Starting at Freedom Square, this avenue is a hub of culture, commerce, and history, boasting numerous cafes, shops, restaurants, and architectural marvels.
Freedom Square. With a history dating back to 1801, this square has been a focal point for commerce, culture, and public expression.
Shardeni Street. A vibrant center of Tbilisi's cultural and social life, offering a plethora of galleries, shops, bars, and restaurants.
