Day 2 – Bucharest Icons, Culture & Relaxation

Begin with an exterior visit of the monumental Palace of Parliament, learning about its controversial communist-era history and immense scale. Continue to Revolution Square for a guided walk through the events that transformed Romania in 1989, with engaging stories suitable for both adults and teens. Day 3 – Bucharest – Sinaia – Brasov
Today you leave Bucharest and travel into the scenic Carpathian Mountains toward Sinaia. On arrival, visit the fairy-tale Peles Castle, one ofEurope’s most beautiful royal residences, set amid dense forests and manicured gardens. Explore the richly decorated interiors and learn about Romania’s royal history, with your guide adjusting the storytelling for younger travellers where needed. Time permitting, you may also enjoy ashort walk through the grounds of nearby Pelisor Castle for additional viewpoints and photos.
After the visit, continue over mountain roads to Brasov, one of Transylvania’s most charming medieval towns. On arrival, check in to your 4–5?hotel and take some time to relax or have an informal orientation walk through the historic centre. In the evening you are free to dine in one of Brasov’s many excellent restaurants and soak up the atmosphere of Council Square and its surrounding streets.

Day 4 – Brasov Adventure Options

Day 5 – Bran Castle & Rasnov Fortress
Set out from Brasov for a full-day exploration of Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress, two of Transylvania’s most iconic sites. Begin with BranCastle, dramatically perched on a rocky outcrop and long associated with Vlad the Impaler and the Dracula legend. Wander through narrow stair cases, furnished rooms, and defensive corridors while learning the true history behind the myths. The castle visit is engaging for both adults and children, combining spooky stories with real medieval history.
In the afternoon, continue to Rasnov Fortress, reached either by eco-tractor shuttle or a short uphill walk. From the ramparts and towers, you’llenjoy expansive views over the countryside, making for fantastic photo opportunities. The fortress grounds offer space for children to explore and imagine life in a medieval stronghold. After the visits, return to Brasov for a relaxed evening at your hotel or in the Old Town.

Day 6 – Brasov – Transfagarasan – Sibiu
Depart Brasov and travel toward Sibiu via some of Romania’s most dramatic mountain scenery. When weather and season conditions allow,your route will include the legendary Transfagarasan Road—a series of hairpin bends and high passes that cut through the Fagaras Mountains.Along the way you may stop at Balea Waterfall and Balea Lake, with the option to use the cable car when snow conditions restrict driving. Multiple viewpoints offer breathtaking panoramas of the glacier-carved valley below.
Later in the day you reach Sibiu, an elegant Saxon city known for its colourful houses and distinctive "eyes" windows. After check-in at your 4–5? hotel, enjoy a relaxed walking exploration of the Large and Small Squares, the Bridge of Lies, and the old fortifications district. Cafés and restaurants around the squares provide a welcoming setting for dinner and people-watching as the sun sets over the rooftops. Day 8 – Sibiu – Sighisoara (UNESCO Citadel)
Travel from Sibiu to Sighisoara, a beautifully preserved medieval citadel recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On arrival, check in toyour boutique hotel located within the citadel walls, immersing you immediately in the town’s historic atmosphere. A guided walking tour explores cobbled lanes, the Clock Tower Museum, the old defensive walls and towers, and the house traditionally identified as the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler.
